Great Vision Designs

The St. Lucia Semi Professional Football League (SPFL)
proudly announces the initiation of a comprehensive player compensation program, marking a
pivotal step towards the professionalization and international recognition of football in St. Lucia.
This move is designed not only to enhance the quality of the local leagues but also to elevate St.
Lucia’s prospects of competing on the global stage, including the prestigious World Cup.
The league has allocated a substantial $1.3 million for player salaries and training allowances over
a seven-month season. Monthly, each of the ten district leagues receives approximately $13,190,
totalling $131,900 collectively, ensuring that players are adequately compensated for their
dedication and performance.
Significant funding for this initiative has been provided by the National Lotteries Authority and
the Government of St. Lucia, which have played critical roles in supporting the league’s extensive
financial needs. The St. Lucia Football Association has also been instrumental in licensing and
officiating, ensuring that the league operates at the highest professional standards.
To date, seven of the ten district leagues have completed their paperwork, with players already
benefiting from the compensation. We urge the remaining three leagues to promptly submit their
required documentation to allow their players the full benefits of our professional framework.
This initiative not only professionalizes football in St. Lucia but also strategically enhances player
profiles for international opportunities. By providing a structured and competitive environment,
the SPFL aims to increase the visibility and attractiveness of our players for international transfers
and negotiations. This, in turn, positions St. Lucia as a more formidable contender for international
tournaments, including the World Cup.
About SPFL: The St. Lucia Semi Professional Football League is committed to the development
and professionalization of football in St. Lucia. By fostering talent and providing robust support,
the SPFL is dedicated to enhancing the sport’s competitive standard and achieving international
success.
