Great Vision Designs

Young people from across the Caribbean are preparing for a transformative tide of change!
Youth IRIE (Innovators for Renewable and Inclusive Energy) is uniting the most fervent young
minds from across the Caribbean for a landmark gathering in Saint Lucia from June 7 to June. This pivotal event will center on two of our region’s most urgent issues: Sustainable Energy
and Climate Justice.
Over an intensive four-day period, attendees will participate in dynamic sessions, educational
field trips, and stimulating dialogues to devise solutions that will empower their communities and
chart a more sustainable course for the Caribbean.
This gathering goes beyond mere dialogue; it is about catalyzing action. Participants will acquire
critical knowledge on sustainable energy practices, learn from regional experts, and investigate
methods to incorporate renewable energy and climate justice solutions into their island
economies.
On June 10 th , they will also participate in the Second Caribbean Youth Parliament on Climate
Justice and Sustainable Energy. This is an opportunity for Caribbean youth to debate and craft a
strong resolution that speaks to the actions they wish to see taken to create a more sustainable,
equitable and just Caribbean and the role they will play as agents of change to make this
happen.
The Youth IRIE Convening 2024 is the brainchild of the founder of the Caribbean Climate
Justice Project, Dr. James Fletcher, and is made possible with the assistance of several
international, regional and local partners and sponsors. It is jointly organized by SOLORICON
and the Caribbean Regional Youth Council (CRYC). This gathering is more than an event – it is
a movement that elevates and amplifies the voices of our youth, cultivates their innovative
ideas, and thrusts them into the limelight of the climate and sustainable energy discourse.
