St Lucia is getting set to welcome 113 thousand new airline seats in the month of June, just in time for the carnival celebrations. The increased airlift comes from existing flight operators and even a few new air carriers, both regionally and internationally, set to add the island to their itinerary, this coming summer. The new flights will begin as early as April 15th with the introduction of a new regional airline to the market.

Air Delphi will connect St Lucia to St Vincent and Martinique and is expected to bring some semblance of normalcy to travel among the islands. Tourism officials are also in negotiations with another unnamed regional carrier, which they are hoping will alleviate the woes experienced by island hopping hopefuls from the month of July. In addition, Caribbean airlines is set to introduce weekly flights connecting Jamaica, St Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago. InterCaribbean will provide daily flights to Barbados and thrice weekly flights to Jamaica.

On the international front, American Airlines will introduce a second daily flight into the island from the New York market, while jet blue begins a second daily flight from June 15th.
