Revelers can expect more bang for their buck this carnival season, with added avenues to enjoy the island’s biggest cultural extravaganza. At the official press launch for Carnival 2024, chair of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee, Tamara Gibson introduced new shows, fresh faces and lots more fetes to the annual celebration. From giving the festival a face, to putting Dennery segment in the limelight, the CPMC has gone all out to ensure that carnival 2024 is one for the ages.
St Lucian model Jessie Duncan, a vaval connoisseur, has been named as the face of Lucian Carnival 2024. This is just one of the new facets to the festival unveiled by Carnival Planning and Management Committee chairperson Tamara Gibson at the official press launch on April 4th.
Gibson also disclosed a new event on the national calendar, set to pay tribute to the authentic Lucian genre that has taken the party scene by storm…Dennery segment.
The traditional carnival events have not been forgotten with the calypso competitions given more room to expand their horizons.
