The management team of the Bordelais Correctional Facility have sought to distance themselves from a video circulating on social media, depicting a seriously injured individual. The footage shows a male subject, with puncture wounds to his back and a severed finger. The video was said to be a recording of the aftermath of an altercation which took place at the prison, yet prison officials have vehemently denied this allegation.
According to BCF Deputy Director, Leonard Terrance, the individual in the video is not and has never been a member of the facility’s population. While Terrance admits that there was an altercation between two inmates of the remand block, He asserts that officers attached to the facility intervened quickly to quell the incident. However, he informs, one inmate sustained lacerations to his body and was taken to a medical facility for care. He is reportedly in stable condition while his assailant is under strict management. Investigations into the matter are currently being conducted by the Dennery Police Station.
