The February tally concluded with the 20th Homicide for 2024. The total count at the end of February has more than doubled from that recorded at the close of January, the first month of the new year. St Lucia recorded eight homicides for the month of January. In February, the second month of the year, the homicide count experienced a staggering 150 percent increase.
The current number of murders is very worrying and suggests a trend towards unusually high numbers. As we begin March, we remember the twelve young men who lost their lives.
