A Toyota Vitz crashed into a pole after colliding with a Range Rover at Marisule on Saturday. The vehicles were traveling in opposite directions. Emergency personnel from the Gros Islet Fire Station responded with a fire truck and an ambulance after receiving a call for assistance at about 9:30 am. They assessed the driver of the Toyota, who declined emergency transportation to a medical facility. Over the past few days, the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) has been busy responding to road incidents despite appeals to road users to exercise caution. On Friday night, emergency responders rushed three people to the OKEU Hospital after two motorcycles collided at Marisule. The bikes were traveling in opposite directions near the Courts Saint Lucia Marisule branch. Earlier, on Friday afternoon at about 2:00 pm, three vehicles collided at Escap along the Micoud Highway, resulting in the death of one man. So far, in 2024, Saint Lucia has recorded six road fatalities.
