UPDATE ON LA SOUFRIERE VOLCANO
The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) in collaboration with the University of the West Indies decided that the volcano alert level should be lowered from Red to Orange since no explosions occurred at the volcano site since April 22nd 2021.
The country has recorded a few long period earthquakes and persistent steaming. The volcano continues to be in a state of unrest and escalation in activities can still take place with little to no warning.
Air quality continues to improve. However, for some pollutants there may be a moderate health concern for a very small number of people who are very unusually sensitive to air pollution
St. Lucia along with other islands across the Caribbean are continuing to make tremendous contributions to the Island.
