The ancillary staff at St. Judes Hospital, downed their tools Friday June 4th, 2021 in a protest on working conditions at the hospital.  The hospital,  which has been housed at the stadium since the fire on September 9th, 2009 saw skeletal staff on Friday.  Some departments were reportedly being run with mainly supervisors.

Some of the issues, according to the workers, include a desire for uniform allowance. They would like a review of salary and wages.

A better working environment is also a request as they claim that management has a seemingly laissez-faire attitude towards their plight and complaints.

This stance came after the kitchen staff had downed the tools two days prior and refused to work due to a leaky pipe in the kitchen. A pipe that, according to our sources, had been brought to management’s attention repeatedly for a month.

The move meant that breakfast was not served to patients on that day. Lunch was served late and after the plumbing issue was addressed.

We have been reliably informed that the Prime Minister has requested an emergency meeting with the shop stewards of the various departments at St. Jude to come to an agreement last evening.
